Long Island’s East End and the Forks have become known for vast vineyards that you pass while driving down either narrow spit of land.

Upon first look, they may be mistaken for clusters of grapes. Plants produce light champagne-colored fruit on multi-flora trusses and are exceptionally sweet. We typically cut the entire truss as it’s easier to harvest and pack for the fresh market.

This is an offtype selected out since 2011 from a Hungarian yellow cherry.

Named by Estee Cohen-Laub for the ancient city in Israel that borders two deserts, the Negev and the Judean. In the past, and as is today, the area is known for thriving agriculture in the midst of hostile conditions.
